Description

The Tormurjuk Scarf by Catherine Salter Bayar uses texture among stitches worked flat, with the regularity of horizontal garter ridges against the diagonal rows of petals formed by the floral bud stitch, arranged in alternating squares and rectangles, like fallen buds of spring on cobblestoned streets.

I-cords keep the scarf edges tidy, but ever so slightly curvy. Tomurcuk means “bud” in Turkish, spelled phonetically here.
