Chicklets Sock knitting pattern

Description

Here’s a fun unisex sock in five sizes (XS/S/M/L/XL) that knits up quickly and puts a busy colorway to good use. The playful textured squares follow the color trail as it spirals down the leg and over the foot, bending and squeezing the fabric as it goes, for an optical effect.

Note: Sock may be knit at 8 sts/inch, using guidelines below (yardages may vary from the original).

Suggested Yarns: 

Modern Deco Sport, Better Breakfast Fingering, Stone Soup Fingering or any springy, high-twist sock yarn with 275 yards per 4 ounces.

Substituting needles and/or yarn may result in an overall variation in size.

Finished Size:
at 7 sts/inch: 5.5(7.25, 8.75, 10.5, 12.25) inches in circumference, to fit feet measuring up to 6.5(8, 9.5, 11.5, 13) around ball of foot
at 8 sts/inch: 4.75(6.25, 7.75, 9.25, 10.75) inches in circumference, to fit feet measuring up to 5.5(7, 8.5, 10, 11.5) around ball of foot

Yarn Requirements:
225(275, 325, 375, 425) yds

Gauge:
28 sts and 36 rows = 4 inches in stockinette stitch (unblocked)

Needles:
DPNs size US1.5 (2.5mm), or size to obtain correct gauge.
