Raja Ampat Kit yarn & knitting pattern kit

Description

This kit provides you with all you’ll need to complete the intriguing Raja Ampat shawl. This petite semi-circle is begun with a provisional cast on and worked from neck to hem in a series of motifs progressing from solid to patterned to lacy. Slip stitch combinations provide visual texture and complexity here to mix separate colors in a coordinating set, or a dyed gradient or solid yarn.

Designer’s note: While the total yarn quantity is the same for each kit, the size of the individual colors may vary slightly, especially in the Coral Reef mini set. If you typically knit very loosely and run low on yarn, please swatch carefully and consider using a smaller needle size for your projects.

Suggested Yarns by the skein: Bare Naked Wools Modern Deco Lace, Stone Soup Fingering, Better Breakfast Fingering, Fresh Lace and Coral Reef Fingering.

Pattern Yardage Required: 400 yards total. 100 yards each of colors A, B, C and D were used for the samples.

Finished Size: 21 inches long by 48 inches across the top edge (stretched and blocked)

Gauge: 24 sts and 36 rows = 4 inches in stockinette on smaller needles

Needles: US 6 – 4.0 mm, US 7 – 4.5mm
