Description

In the coldest of seasons, a sturdy pair of mittens in a dense, impenetrable fabric will keep hands much warmer than gloves. Add a heavily cabled panel along the top to maximize their wind resistance and you won’t want to leave home without them. This pair are knit with squishy worsted weight wool in six sizes (XXS/XS/S/M/L/XL) for children, teens, and adults. For best insulation use a lofty, strong wool that traps air and forms a cohesive fabric surface.

Suggested Yarns:Chebris Worsted, Confection Worsted, Kent Worsted, Targhee Tango Worsted, Better Breakfast Worsted, or any soft, springy worsted weight yarn that knits to pattern gauge. Substituting yarn and/or needles may result in an overall variation in size.

Gauge: 18 sts and 26 rows = 4 inches in stockinette on larger needles (knit flat; unblocked) 

Needles: size 7US (4.5 mm) for body (or size to obtain correct gauge)size 6US (4.0 mm) for cuff (or one size smaller than body needle)
