Gauge:
20 sts and 28 rows = 4 inches in stockinette stitch on larger needles (washed and air-dried)
24 sts and 48 rows = 4 inches in pattern stitch on larger needles (washed and air-dried)
Needles:
size 7US (4.5 mm) or size to obtain correct gauge
size 6US (4.0 mm) for starting border (or .5 mm smaller than gauge needle)
