Eliza Lace Mitts knitting pattern

Description

A girly lace mitt in three sizes (XS/S/L) featuring a pleated hem flounce with a panel of pretty snowdrop lace extending up the back of the hand (palm is worked in stockinette). A perky combination of entertaining, but simple to work stitches to knit in a fresh spring color for a special child or adult (smallest size will fit children ages 6 to 10 yrs).

Suggested Yarns: Modern Deco Lace, Better Breakfast Fingering, Stone Soup Fingering, Jacob Fingering, Shetlandia Fingering, or any soft, plump, sock yarn with 350-400 yards per 4 ounces
   
Substituting yarn and/or needles may result in an overall variation is size.

Finished Size:
4.5(5.5, 6.5) inches around palm, to fit hands measuring up to 6(7, 8) inches around
6(8, 9) inches in length

Yarn requirements:
125(160, 200) yards

Gauge:
32 sts and 48 rows = 4 inches in stockinette stitch (unblocked)

Needles:
DPNs size 1US (2.25 mm) or size to obtain correct gauge
DPNs size 2US (2.75 mm) for hem (or two mm sizes bigger than body needle)
