Description
Knit an adorable mini sweater with a colorwork yoke. Along the way you will learn about circular yoke construction in sweaters, using short rows for shaping, and simple stranded colorwork. Students who are more experienced with colorwork will have the option to try a design that requires trapping floats or using the ladderback jacquard method.

Who is this class for?Adventurous beginners and beyond are welcome. You should be comfortable with basic knit and purl stitches, cast-on, and bind-off. You should also be comfortable with one of the methods that are used for small diameter knitting – DPNs, magic loop, or 2 circulars. If you have knit the top of a hat, socks, or fingerless gloves, this should be familiar to you.
Yarn – the samples were knit with fingering weight yarn, about 1/2 skein of the main color and a small amount of the contrast color. You can use a heavier weight yarn for the class – DK or worsted – that will make it easier for you to see what you are doing, and your sweater will just be a little bit bigger.
Needles – choose the needle size based on the weight of the yarn that you are using. You will need two sizes of needles – one for the main part of the sweater and a size or two smaller for the ribbing at the edges. For the larger size needle you will need a 16” needle and either DPNs or one or two longer needles (for magic loop or 2-circulars method). For the smaller needle, you will need either DPNs or one or two longer needles.
Notions – stitch markers
